Foundation Year Selection!
Foundation Year at SECMOL is accepting applications now! Last date for application is 1 March at 4 pm. Fill the form at SECMOL Office, Leh.
This year-long residential course is for young people who
— Failed class 10 exams
— Dropped out (but age must be suitable)
— Passed class 10 but want a gap-year for learning
— Applicants at other levels may be considered.
All applicants must understand Ladakhi, so should be Ladakhi or have lived in Ladakh. Nepalis who live in Ladakh are welcome to apply. Applicants from Kargil, Zangskar, Spiti or Paddar are welcome to apply (Leh-Ladakhi is similar to your language). Disabled youth, orphans, children of single mothers, low caste, and other applicants with difficult situations may be given special consideration. Some sponsorship is available for students in need.
Students pay Rs 2000 per month for their food cost, but all accommodation and teaching and facilities are free. This is because the students have work and responsibilities every day and take an active role in running SECMOL Campus.

— English
— Science that is practical or related to life (solar energy, health, environment, farming, building, etc.)
— Basic math for life
— Ladakhi history
— Social issues and critical thinking
— Confidence and public speaking
— Career workshop
— Gardening and caring for animals and trees
— Ladakhi song and dance
— Ice skating
— Exposure tour
— Chance to learn other song and dance, games, marathon,, etc.
